I was having a conversation with my friend who is seeing/talking to/dating/idolizing(lol) this Jamaican Rasta guy, who definitely has different values and views on life than we do. (We all smoke every now and then but you know. lol)
But anyway she was telling me about how he's a vegetarian and only sees eating as a way to nourish his body and doesn't really care about it. And she went on to explain that she didn't know what do as a date with this guy.
Now that's so funny to think about.
Us as American's we don't even realize it, but we kind of center our lives around food.
It's a social thing, an emotional thing, a fun thing, a cultural thing, and just everything to us!
If you go out wit your friends half the time what are you going to do eventually? Eat. Family? Eat. Boyfriend? Eat.
And we're also EXTREMELY greedy. I mean have you SEEN the plates they serve at the Cheesecake factory my gawd they're huge!
And when we cry, we run to ice cream and sweets, when we're happy and want to celebrate it's like 'hey! let's all go out to eat!' It's somebody's birthday, where's the cake?
Just a bunch of connections we have to this stuff.
And we eat it for the taste, not because we need to. And half the time, heh, probably more than half, it's something that's not so great for our health.
So next time you eat, do it cause you need to not because you feel like it!
...okay now I'm hungry.
